What to expect from co-living at Utopia
Utopia is a large property in Fresnaye that we've turned into a relaxed community space. There are seven bedrooms, with five in the main house and one in each of the cottages. In the main house, you get your own private room with a desk; you share a kitchen, three patios, a garden, a huge lounge with workspace, a hot tub and a pool with a Lion's Head view.
Seven people usually live here at a time, a mix of Cape Town locals and people passing through from abroad. Everyone is conscientious and easy going, and there is more than enough space to be sociable or keep to yourself. We try to hang out as often as possible, but we leave it up to each person to make plans and contribute to the community vibe. We're all busy adults, so we're quite independent too.
Fast Wi-Fi and an inverter mean load shedding doesn't stop your working day, and a regular cleaning service keeps the shared areas in good shape.
